it is really important that we get a good turnout at this public meeting - this is not the time to be complacent... the government has got a huge fossil fuel agenda and permits are getting issued all the time.

CCS Disability Action is proud to host four speakers respected for their knowledge on these topics. There will be two strands through the day—one on cooking and preserving foods, and the other on using herbs in numerous ways offered in two 3-hour presentations.

Inspirational farmer Joel Salatin is visiting New Zealand and will be giving 2 public talks (7pm on Thursday 18th Nov at Ashhurst, Manawatu and 7.30pm on Friday19th Nov in Napier ) plus a two-day workshop (Saturday 20th –Sunday 21st November).

Tanya Cumberland and Charmaine Pountney from Earthtalk@Awhitu have spent seventeen years redesigning their land using permaculture principles, from a bare grazing block to a sub-tropical organic paradise. They have also applied similar principles working with local community groups

Xanthe White is a landscape designer and author of an Organic Gardening book.

Please come join us every first Tuesday (except January) for a presentation from a knowledgeable and interesting speaker on an angle of sustainability.  First up is James Samuel, who will be presenting "Building Local Resilience While Growing Together".

James facilitated the community response to the emerging Transistion Towns idea in October 2007.  Since then, this self-organising grassroots initiative has gone from strength to strength.  He will share with those present, some examples of community organising, and tangible manifestations of them doing so.
