be informed about oil exploration in NZ and demand a clean energy future instead of a fossil fuel agenda
guest speakers: nathan argent (greenpeace), debs martin (forest & bird) helen tulett (coal action network) and kevin hague (greens mp)
it is really important that we get a good turnout at this public meeting - this is not the time to be complacent... the government has got a huge fossil fuel agenda and permits are getting issued all the time.

Please come join us every first Tuesday (except January) for a presentation from a knowledgeable and interesting speaker on an angle of sustainability. First up is James Samuel, who will be presenting "Building Local Resilience While Growing Together".
James facilitated the community response to the emerging Transistion Towns idea in October 2007. Since then, this self-organising grassroots initiative has gone from strength to strength. He will share with those present, some examples of community organising, and tangible manifestations of them doing so.
