The 2013 National Permaculture Hui

9-11 March 2013

Taranaki is hosting this year’s national Permaculture Hui, and we’ve picked the March date so you can stay on after the hui to take in some of the post events, check out our beautiful region, and finish your week at WOMAD which is held in the
stunning setting of Pukekura Park (www. taft.co.nz/womad).

The venue is Vertical Horizon, an outdoor adventure centre next to
the Manganui River and beautiful Everett Park Scenic Reserve. It is a 5 minute drive from Inglewood and 20 minutes from New Plymouth.

Accommodation includes cabins (limited), dormitories, marae-style, and BYO camping, with a maximum capacity of 250 people. There are other accommodation options nearby.
The theme of the Hui is “Upskilling", with an emphasis on practical workshops. There will be a wide range of talks and activities, including a strong matauranga Maori presence. We aim to
appeal to both the novice and the seasoned permaculture practitioner. There will also be lots of connecting with people, networking, and having
fun!

A kids' zone with organized activities, a marketplace where you can buy & sell cool stuff, and the all important coffee cart and hang out zone will be available.
There will be a tour of local permaculture sites, the perennial “open mic” night, and lots of great local food to eat.

We really need you to register early this year. To help you out, we are offering a range of fee options: an early bird, a normal registration,
and a late registration.

Te Ohu Pai Mahi o Parihaka

The people of Parihaka are hosting a post-Hui event from 11-15th March. The Parihaka community are recreating their sustainable papakainga and we can help to implement their vision with our many hands. There will be opportunities to absorb the history and spirit of the birthplace of non-violent resistance. Marae accommodation and BYO camping will be available. More Information

Hui bookings are now open. See the pricing page and booking form linked below.

We are really looking forward to hosting you all here in Taranaki…. . Haere Mai!

Comments

Hi again Robbie,
It just occurred to me that I misunderstood your post...

Workshop presenters are expected to pay the same the registration fee as everyone else. We plan to give you a special name tag though!
