I would like to hear your views on how well we're doing, in real terms. For example, how much land in NZ could be classed as being under a "Permacultre regime"?
How much food do we produce? Is there the equivilant to feed our own families?
How much energy to we produce?
How much fertile arable land do we have access to and do we have the means of utilising it?
Is there enough wealth (food/housing/tools) in the permaculture community to liberate our youth from the commercial world?
Do we have to capacity to grow all the seeds/plant resources needed by our own permaculture community?
I also wonder what the future projections for the permaculture movement in NZ are. Are we growing healthily or are we somewhat hopeful that of a global colapse will do the work for us? How many years untill NZ's enitre land mass is covered in ultimate lush permaculture farms?
If the economy collapsed tomorrow, how much food could we make? Would people be looking to us for help or will agriculture (not permaculture) save the day?
Are we succeding?
"Permaculture in New Zealand's mission is to act as a national hub in promoting and empowering permaculture education, activism and advocacy in Aotearoa NZ"
How do we know when we have achieved our mission? I guess we already have/are. Is there anything else to do except carry on with what we're already doing?
