Friendly, relaxed learning in Waiheke Island
Bryan Innes and Joanna Pearsall create an opportunity for course members to earth themselves in nature. The sense of belonging, of “knowing” is a result of the ecological grounding of permaculture and can be transformati onal. Jo and Bryan use accelerated learning techniques and a nurturing community building process. The course includes field trips and practical work such as building in earth, designing edible landscapes, making compost and worm farms. We spend time each day, as part of the PDC course, experiencing and learning about co-operative living in action and the critical skills of observing, listening, opening and receiving.
The benefits
The growth in trust and risk taking generates co-operation and alignment, encouraging flair and creativity in design. This is reflected in the excellent quality of group work in design and other exercises by participants.
