Permaculture in New Zealand

you might want to be part of this, if you aren't already! It's
all local to Wellington – if you're not around here, see it just as
some info :-) 

We (Simon Paquier, Matt King,
Lisa Johnston, some others :-) and me...) feel like meeting regularly
to give eachother feedback on our Earth care projects, bringing them
into perspective, discuss Permaculture ideas and put them into practice
together. The sessions are open and anyone can come, even without
knowing anything about Permaculture! 

The main
group of people who will benefit from participating are those using
Permaculture principles (whether consciently or without knowing!) in
their work, and especially if you work on your own, to get feedback and
support from others sharing the same ideas/values. You can into
architecture, clothes design, gardening, community work... whatever,
really, as long as it has some connection to the creation of a world of
environmental sustainability and social justice. 

We're not an internet based group, but events will hopefully be advertised on www.permaculture.org.nz
– it is a real life support network! Theme, time and place for the next
session will be decided during the sessions, and the new host is
organising and advertising.

Last Monday, we
decided on the "what and how" of the group, and had a look at Simons
design of Tu Teao marae (where the national Permaculture Hui was held
this year) and gave him some feedback.

Next
session will take place at Lisa's place (Newtown, Wellington) 1-3 pm
Saturday 8/8, around some observation excercises around the house and
garden + design exercises! Looking forwards to that – Lisa will post
details on www.permaculture.org.nz
