Kia Ora to all and especially to the Welly permites that met up in Porirua

Re: Highly regular get togethers like a club or something...
First I'd like to suggest some names for this potential
group/thing/idea/space...since Permaculture Club sounds all too obvious,
exclusive and begs the question - "so where did Boy George and those
rainbow braids go?"
Name Options:
1. Eco Butterfly Beaver Further Learning Octopus Worldwide Wellington =
EBBFLOWW
2. Butterfly Beaver Eco Design Action Circle
3. Group Eco Design for Everyday People - GEDEP!
4. Wellington Earthwise Design Action Coil/Circle
5. Earthwise Design Group-Action Ring Wellington - EDGAR Wellington
The list is potentially endless so for now I'll temporarily dub it
EBBFLOWW (my pick) until we can do a vote, poll, consensus - incidentally
I guess some will be wondering why not mention permaculture in the name?,
I have issues with the word and the image that it cocveys to the wider
public so I thought a witty, semi-criptic catchy name might suit this
offshoot adventure...
So what on earth will this EBBFLOWW thing be?
Intentions (I image it will become):
- Regular sessions permaculture design actions in order to practise and
train ourselves in the skills we have and seek
- Open space for shared learning through peer guided action
- Focal point(s) for permaculture design activity within our bio-region
Guidance (peer-tutor role)
- Volunteer guide(s) (with a bit of pcd experience under their belt)
steering the learning aspects of each session
- Referrals made to elder(s) (volunteer?) where doubt prevails
Time and Place
- Fixed frequency, period and day - say monthly (initially, with aim to
get to weekly), say 2-3hr session on say a Saturday am/pm maybe.
- Sites volunteered by participants (default venue at a suitable (free of
charge) public meeting place such as Southern Cross Bar, Fidels Cafe...
where the action will be graphical and verbal designing or hand crafts!)
