Northland Eco Property for sale “Rancho Relaxo”
Are you looking for a unique property, something different?
somewhere peaceful, remote, and surrounded by hundreds of acres of conservation land?

Rancho relaxo is situated on the border of 3 fantastic forests – the Puhipuhi forest, the Russel state forest, and the Ruapekapeka forest. It is a beautiful, north facing, flat clearing of an acre surrounded by majestic trees of which the ancient towering Northern Rata are a highlight.
Tui, Kereru (Kukupa), Piwakawka, morepork, Paere, kingfishers and ducks are abundant.

We call the house on the property the 'cabin' as it's cute and cosy. It is octangonal in shape, and has a kitchen, wood buring fire, and a mezzanine floor for sleeping. There is an addition to the cabin with a bedroom, flush toilet and bathroom/shower. We use LP Gas for cooking, refridgeration and water heating. Out on the deck is a fire bath for those nights you wish to soak under the stars.

There is a fenced permaculture based garden and two small fenced orchards which are already supplying a small quantity of fruit, like peaches, feijoas, grapefruit, grapes, raspberries and nectarines to name a few.

Also on the property are 3 well placed caravans, for guest/woofer accomodation.

Grounds are well taken care of by 3 pet sheep and a mobile chook dome for permaculture gardens available to be populated with your chooks.

Alternative energy: solar power with battery bank - NO POWER BILLS! and a petrol generator for laundry machine. No land telephone. Telecom 027 cellphone coverage only. Wireless internet & landline style phone may be connected via farmside rural broadband (www.farmside.co.nz) or Rocket broadband. Rain water is collected into a 25,000 litre tank.

Whangarei (Kamo) shops are a 35 minute drive away, and the southern end of Whangarei (Port road) is 50 minutes from the property.

The property would suit either a practical, peaceful person or couple, or family. There is plenty for the kids to do: swim and play in the stream (Waiotu), play in the bush or on the large lawn, make huts etc.... A great little primary&intermediate school (Hukerenui) is 20 minutes away with a school bus service (incl high school) 5-10minute drive from the property.

LAND TO GROW FOOD
Looking for Land to Grow Food? To Practice Permaculture?

We have a large 24 ha site in Motueka (near Nelson) of mostly flat land that we would like to see cooperatively turned into permaculture gardens to provide food security for the gardeners and surrounding community. The idea is to involve serious organic gardeners who are interested in producing a surplus, while enhancing the landscape and soil. The surpluses from several such gardens could be pooled and marketed collectively – for example, as a community supported agriculture (CSA) and other distribution enterprises.

To date two gardens have been established, a plant propagation shade house, and small hothouse have been built, and several new ponds dug.

Some rental accommodation is available on site.

The project is part of the Atamai sustainable village development ( www.atamai.co.nz) and offers early involvement in the establishment of sustainable permaculture landuse practices and mutually supportive livelihoods.

A variety of frameworks are available to get involved.

2 one acre properties
These two Riverton properties are well worth looking into, both very sheltered with older houses, good workshops and garaging.
One has a large established (15 year old) fruit, nut and berry orchard, the other is just waiting for a permaculturist gentle sloped land and a stream running through. Listed at $200,000 and $225,000.
Riverton is a great little eco town and the short street both of these properties are on already has two permaculture properties on it!

Looking to create a small miracle in miranda
Hello. I have taken over managing a family farm in Miranda, sth of Auckland. It's a beautiful spot and I am interested to develop it as a space for permaculture, forest gardens, and creativity. I have a background working with the arts (contemporary digital media artists mostly) and am interested to create a crossover space between artists, writers, environmentalists, gardeners and the local community. I'm a complete newbie with permaculture and gardening and the land is right now being used for grazing stock. There is an organic orchard up the road and a neighbour runs a native nursery as a social (employment) initiative, and so I am interested to see where a permaculture approach might fit in with those existing energies.

What I am looking for is someone with experience and skills who would be interested to work with me on these ideas. There is a cute building outside the main house that makes for a lovely little private bedroom, and a private bathroom (and soon to be kitchen) is in a larger adjacent building. This building would also make for a good studio of some kind. I would be more than happy to offer this accommodation for free or cheap for the right person (plus bills) in exchange for their help. Prefer a single person there during the day (at least to some degree) though couples also considered. Pets are welcome. Short or long term considered.

Please send us a note if you have any interest at all -- it would be great to chat. I am flexible with any additional thoughts you might have.

Thanks very much and all the best!

25 acres in Banks Peninsula Half Shares for Sale
GV $375000

Selling for $200000. (Approximately 25 acres)

The partners can be silent, but the vendors would prefer ‘active ‘ by establishing facilities that both vendor and buyer would be satisfied with in terms of holiday accommodation. When not in use the properties would be ideal for rental for local residents in the greater reaches of Christchurch.

Subdivision makes it difficult and costly. So long, as there is a commitment to ensuring displacement of either partner is avoided, the vendor is keen to negotiate. The vendors subscribe to ecological endeavours and would prefer those of that elk to tender interest.

Proposal

The vendor and the buyer mayl undertake to invest time and money in a straw bale accommodation on a mutually agreed upon time frame. The property has a barn to dry off bales and several possible building sites.

The vendor will take action to replace the boundary fencing on all sides at the completion of sale.

The property would be debt free upon the completion of the sale. All capital raised on the property would need approval of all partners.

Built 1960, addition constructed in 1970's -wooden floors, french doors from living area. New hot water cylindar, recently replaced water mains and a new roof. Is a great place to raise children, or could be used to run a business from home with on street parking. Carport. Nice location in established area. Very sad to move, need a smaller property.

HOUSE AND LAND FOR SALE – KOHATU TOA ECO-VILLAGE
The housesite is just under an acre in size and is well developed including beautiful and productive orchards and vegetable gardens. The site was designed using permaculture principles and also includes a toolshed, greenhouse, chicken run, workshop, woodstore and a beautiful light earth cabin / sleep out.

The house is a partially completed timber frame, straw bale house, designed and hand built by the owners to high ecological standards. The design is passive solar with locally sourced, untreated macrocarpa, minimal use of concrete, wool insulation in the roof, earth plasters and earth floor made with clay from on site. Recycled materials including windows, doors and kauri floorboards have also been used. The house design has an open plan kitchen, living and dining area, downstairs bedroom, two bedrooms upstairs, wet area shower, flush vermi-composting toilet system and a large pantry for all the food that will be produced on site. The house can be sold at any stage from now on and provides an amazing opportunity for the new owners to complete the house with their own detailing. The final asking price will depend on the level of completion the house is at when sold.

The site has mains power, telephone and gravity fed water for both house and garden supplies.

Kohatu Toa is a small, supportive and active Eco-Village situated about 5 kms north of Kaiwaka in the Kaipara area. It comprises 7 individual house sites within approximately 100 acres of community land that is jointly owned. Community land includes community garden areas, poly house, community orchard, woodlots, pasture with a small herd of Dexter cattle, extensive varied & established native bush with small stream & waterfall, abundant bird life, pond/swimming pool and an earth brick community building with meeting room, kitchen/dining/living room and another room used currently as a healing room.

Kohatu Toa’s location is perfect for people wanting a quiet and beautiful environment within a supportive community but with relatively easy access to larger population centres.

The final asking price will depend on the level of completion the house is at when sold. If completely finished the asking price would be in the region of $380,000.

Wanted: 0.5 - 1 acre to lease nr Auckland
12 Feb '08: I'm looking into the feasibility of leasing a small-ish piece of land somewhere not too far from Auckland central to grow veggies (and fruit trees?) on. I'd also like to keep hens. If anyone has any advice as to how I could find out more about this, I'd be grateful to hear it! Email me: lucydunbar at gmail dot com with any tips etc. Or if you have a small corner of a larger piece of land that you're not using and would consider leasing it to a fledgling veggie grower, please get in touch. Thanks! Lucy.

Sustainable Village
SUSTAINABLE VILLAGE BASED ON A PERMACULTURE DESIGN
Imagine an entire village based on permaculture principles.
We have the land (100 hectares in biking distance from Motueka at the top of the South Island)
We have the plan (initial phase submitted for Resource Management Approval; extensive research on everything from the most appropriate solar panels to composting toilets, etc)
We have the core team ( of permaculturists, engineers, architects, etc).
What is now needed are Co-creators/investors/ property purchasers – people eager to participate, contribute to and enjoy a village lifestyle. There is also a role for long term leases, and WOOFers.
We believe we have a model for human settlements of the future – resilient, sustainable, attractive, supportive.

Have a look at www.atamai.co.nz and get in touch if you feel Atamai Village may be for you.
